Se naste marele fotbalist Pele
La 23 octombrie 1940 se naste Pele (Edson Arantes do Nascimento), jucator brazilian de fotbal. Este considerat a fi cel mai mare jucator din toate timpurile. In 1999 el a fost desemnat Jucatorul Secolului din Lume de Federatia Internationala de Istorie si Statistica a Fotbalului (IFFHS). In acelasi an, France Football le-a propus fostilor castigatori a Balonului de Aur sa aleaga Jucatorul Secolului, iar acestia l-au ales pe Pele.
