Computerul a fost construit in 1943, la 100 de ani dupa ce Charles Babbage a gandit primul sistem programabil. El a renuntat din lipsa de fonduri. In 1998 la muzeul de stiinta din Londra a fost construit o replica dupa proiectele lui Babbage. Sistemul a functionat exact asa cum era planuit!
