In anii 2000, cel mai batran arbore din lume era considerat un baobab, care crestea in Africa rasariteana. Varsta estimata la acea vreme era de aproape 5000 de ani. In 2020 s-a descoperit in California un pin ce se estimeaza ca are peste 5000 de ani.
